This bi-annual publication was created to build community, and to promote and support Scottish textiles and related creativity by:
- telling stories (past and present) about people, places and businesses
- sharing specially commissioned craft designs (knitting, crochet and weaving)
A digital download code (pdf) is included (inside the back cover).
The theme of issue 9 is Bernat Klein: the Borders based designer and colourist who was active from the 1960s. Alison Harley, chair of the Bernat Klein Foundation has written an article about Klein and you will also find articles about the history of Scottish wool, more on our native sheep breeds (Vikings, St Kilda and Romans are all mentioned!) as well as stories of people, projects and initiatives which showcase Scottish textile arts and crafts and artisans.
There are 6 knitting and 3 crochet designs inspired by his work and I hope you will agree they are fabulous!
